Deviate’s Bio

Deviate’s passion for music began early when he started playing the keyboard in his hometown of Northwich but as with many things in life, the interest wavered as new opportunities came his way. It was only when he went to Aberystwyth university that he was introduced to the loud world of DJing. Starting out in his student accommodation at house parties he soon joined the DJ society and ran the multi-genre night Buzz!

This is where he honed his skills of mixing his favourite genres – drum and bass and house. Deviate went on to do sets at nights such as Black House and Ministry of Sound, eventually playing at one of the number one student festivals – Beach Break Live. University finished and a hole was left to be filled by the sound of dancefloor bangers and late night kebabs – Deviate needed another outlet. Step in Shirefunk headed by Elah Kram and King Louis, two brothers with the love of hip hop and all things outdoors. We found an instant connection through music and found ourselves mixing and spitting bars in a small cabin in the heart of Cheshire. Ever since, Deviate has DJd alongside King Louis at Wooden House Production nights creating spine tingling and atmospheric sets as well as providing the backing track to some of Wooden House Productions signings such as Shirefunk. This DJ has an arsenal of bangers and is not one to miss.

“All I want from my sets are for them to go in so hard someone starts flinging shoes!”
